This editable powerpoint inlcudes a series of resources for the beginning of a project on Textile Dolls in KS2/KS3 Design and Technology. Included are resources for analysing an existing product using ACCESSFM, re-designing products to meet a new target market’s needs as well as a resource to write a Design Specification for students own products. Resources are suitable for mixed ability groups as there is some differentiation provided. This powerpoint can be edited to suit a different project within Design and Technology easily, as the design process and structure of the tasks are relevant to most projects.

Powerpoint resources containing 16 different editable slides on the topic of toy design/toy safety. Several slides are designed for use as a teaching visual aid that can be displayed to students in lesson to accompany the worksheets tasks, that can be printed. Tasks allow students to analyse existing toy products considering target market and toy safety. Short questions, exit tickets and longer product analysis tasks included. Some differentiation provided on resources in the form of sentence starters, key words and sentence structures. (I use these resources with my year 6-8 classes during woodwork projects.)

Printable activity cards for DT on the topic of client needs. Sheet 1 provides two options of clients and their problems. Students are required to identify the client’s needs and write/sketch a design solution. Sheet 2 provides a blank client needs template in which students can make up a client with a problem and provide a solution. Alternatively, this can be used as pair work. Entire woodwork based project in which students are required to design and make a wooden pencil holder shaped like a letter of choice. Pencil holder is made with pinewood and has been cut by hand to achieve the shape. Holes are drilled to hold pencils. Wood stain finish applied. Included in the download is a 58 slide power-point that covers 11, 40 minute lessons. Starter activities, main tasks, plenaries and homework tasks for each lesson. A separate PDF file is attached that has 34 pages of printable resources to accompany the power-point.
